Back in Naryn
Spent most of the time in Naryn walking around the city, looking at the sights, like the statue to the “new generation” —
visiting with that new generation:
wandering around Naryn’s neighborhoods; checking out the natural history museum (not in the guide books — a walk-by find!); doing a little window-shopping at the art gallery and at the railroad container malls;

looking for the Saudi-built mosque; and visiting the regional museum, where we met a “perfect stranger”, who took the time to give us the personal guided tour of the museum. We stayed in yurts, at the best hotel in town — for $13 USD a night, we had breakfast, dinner, and a place to sleep with electricity that only went out about three times a night, water that was intermittent at best, and an off-and-on internet connection. Apart from the minor frustrations associated with modern technology, it was just great.
